Who we are
DTaxi is a taxi and transfer service based in Dublin, Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data you give us through this website, by phone, text, WhatsApp or email.

What we collect
When you ask for a quote or book a trip, we collect:
- your name, phone number and (optionally) email address;
- trip details: pickup and drop-off addresses, date, time, number of passengers and suitcases, return trip;
- whether you need a wheelchair accessible vehicle, if you tell us;
- anything you write in the notes field, such as a flight number.
Please don't include information in the notes that we don't need for your trip.
Why we use it and our legal basis
- To give you a quote and carry out your booking. This is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and to perform that contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- To send the right vehicle if you tell us you need wheelchair access. We use this only for your trip, and only because you chose to share it with us.
- To keep business and accounting records where the law requires it (Article 6(1)(c)).
We don't use your data for marketing and we never sell it.
Services that process data for us
- Web3Forms delivers the quote form to our email inbox.
- Google Maps Platform (Google Ireland Ltd.) suggests addresses as you type in the pickup and drop-off fields. Only if you accept this in our cookie settings, the text you type in those fields is sent to Google to find matching addresses. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) measures how the website is used, only if you accept analytics in our cookie settings.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and may process technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site securely.
- WhatsApp (Meta), only if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp.
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under GDPR, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests that don't lead to a booking for up to 12 months. Booking details are kept for as long as Irish tax and accounting law requires, and then deleted.
Cookies and similar technologies
Under the EU ePrivacy rules (in Ireland, S.I. No. 336 of 2011) and GDPR, we only store or read information on your device without asking when it's strictly necessary for the site to work. For anything else we ask first, and rejecting is as easy as accepting.
- Strictly necessary (always on): your cookie choice, saved in your browser's local storage for 6 months (
dtaxi-consent-v1), and technical data our hosting provider Cloudflare needs to deliver the site securely. - Google Analytics (only if you accept): helps us understand how many people visit the site, which pages they look at and how they contact us. It sets cookies starting with
_ga(kept for up to 2 years) and sends data such as your IP address, device and browser details to Google. We don't use it for advertising. - Google address suggestions (only if you accept): when you type in the pickup or drop-off fields, Google Maps Platform receives what you type and your IP address and may set or read cookies. If you reject, the form still works – you just type the address yourself.
We don't use advertising cookies.
You can change your choice at any time: Cookie settings.
Your rights
You have the right to access your personal data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its use, and receive a copy of it. To use any of these rights, email booking@dtaxi.ie. We will reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission: www.dataprotection.ie.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
